Rangers FC brought in Ryan Kent during the summer from Liverpool on a season-long loan deal and the winger has been a hit with the Gers.

So far, Kent has made 24 appearances for Rangers this season – scoring three goals and providing three assists.

And Steven Gerrard is clearly impressed with the young lad.

Ryan Kent is scheduled to go back to Liverpool at the end of the season but reports suggest that Gerrard wants him to stay at Ibrox for the next campaign.

The Teddy Bears want to make the loan deal permanent but if Liverpool do not agree then they will try and push for another loan deal.

Mark Allen, the club’s director of football, said: “He is familiar with the coaching staff, he’s worked with them before during his Liverpool career.

“We would certainly like to pursue what we do next with Ryan but that is a conversation we have to have with Liverpool. He’s their player. We’ve a very good relationship with Liverpool and I think it is dialogue that will continue for the foreseeable future.

“I think they would be happy, I don’t want to speak for Liverpool, but I am sure they would be happy with the way that Ryan is settled. They maybe would see us as a good vehicle for their players to give them much-needed experience.”

Kent had been a constant feature for the Liverpool U23 side but the winger is still miles away from breaking into the first team setup under Jurgen Klopp.

Ryan Kent operates down the left flank with is currently occupied by Sadio Mane and it will require some real hard work if the youngster wants to dethrone Mane.

Steven Gerrard will obviously push for a permanent deal and given his good connections with Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, the Reds manager might also agree to sell the youngster to the Premiership side.

But can the Gers really be able to pay the transfer fee that Liverpool would demand for Ryan Kent?

TransferMarkt values Ryan Kent at 1.75 million euros but sources close to Melwood claim that Liverpool could ask somewhere between 3 to 4 million pounds for the winger.

So, is Steven Gerrard ready to shell out such a large amount for Ryan Kent’s transfer?
