Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been in the process of rebuilding his squad for almost two seasons now and he made a great start to the summer transfer window by bringing in Brazilian midfielder Fred.
But one player who the United boss has always wanted in his squad is Chelsea winger Willian. And Mourinho has made a couple of failed attempts to land him at Old Trafford – if some reports are to be believed.
While many claimed that with Antonio Conte moving out of Chelsea, Willian could also go in search of a new club and this was music to the ears of Jose Mourinho.
Now though, it seems that the winger has plans of moving to the La Liga.
According to a report from the Spanish publication Sport, Willian is closer to secures a move to Barcelona thanks to his international teammate.

The report suggests that while Willian was on international duty during the World Cup, his fellow teammate and current Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho has convinced him to join the Catalans.
Coutinho who left Liverpool to join Barcelona at during the January transfer window seems to have convinced the Chelsea winger that moving to Spain is the correct decision for his long-term future.
Apart from Manchester United, clubs like Inter Milan and Real Madrid were also said to be interested in the services of Willian. But none of them came close to Manchester United’s desire.
This news – if it holds true, will certainly be a huge blow for Jose Mourinho who has harboured feelings of getting Willian for a number of months now.
Chelsea too will be taken a bit aback by this rumours given the fact that they could very well lose Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois both of whom are wanted by Real Madrid.
Some sources have also claimed that the move is in its final stages of completion and the transfer of Willian to Barcelona could be wrapped up within the coming few hours.
