Chelsea played their first pre-season game against Irish side Bohemians FC and they ended up drawing the match 1-1.

Michy Batshuayi scored Chelsea’s first and only goal in the 8th minute of the match and after that, it was pretty much cruise control for the Blues.

But surprisingly, the Irish outfit managed to come up with an equaliser right before the end of the match thereby denying Frank Lampard a victory during his first match in charge.

While fans remain optimistic after the result but some of them have been bashing the club left right and centre after the match.

As it seems a lot of fans were unable to watch the match despite paying a live stream fee for the game.

The Chelsea vs Bohemians game was live streamed on the 5th Stand app and the fans had to pay £1.99 to watch the match. But despite making the payment, there had been several complaints regarding the stream.

And so now Chelsea have released an official statement in which they have chosen to refund the amount that the fans paid to watch the live stream.

The statement read: “Chelsea Football Club would like to apologise for problems encountered by some of our supporters using our 5th Stand app to watch a live video stream of the pre-season match against Bohemians.

“A technical fault meant some users experienced intermittent breaks in the coverage or were not able to sign up in the first place, and we fully understand how disappointing it must have been to miss out on the first action under our new head coach Frank Lampard. For that, we apologise.

“Of course, any payments made to watch the match will be refunded in full. For anyone who paid to watch on an Android device, your refund will be automatic and should be received within the next 48 hours.

“If you paid to view the match on an Apple device, you will need to apply for a refund via their Problem Reporting page and you will be notified when the repayment has been made. Please see below for more details on Apple’s problem reporting.

“We can assure you a full investigation is underway into the technical difficulties encountered to ensure all is resolved in time for the coverage of the next pre-season game.”
