Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic has just started finding his feet at the club but the American could miss out when the Blues travel to Manchester this weekend.
The youngster picked up a knock during Chelsea’s last match in the Premier League but at that time, Frank Lampard chose not to make too much of the injury.
The Blues boss said: “The only frustration is he comes off with a bit of an injury.
“He was going to be subbed before he scored his goal, he’s got a bit of a hip issue, but I’m hoping it’s not too bad because the way he’s in full flow at the moment is great to see.”
But then fears started to grow when he was unable to play for American during the international break as he had to stay back in London for further rehabilitation.
The USA manager had said: “Christian is officially at this stage ruled out.
“We just got that information. This was a collaborative decision with the club looking after the best interest of the player
“These decisions are always difficult because this group and the coaching staff want nothing more than to have Christian here, but it was a risk we weren’t willing to take at this time.”
And now as per the latest reports, Christian Pulisic is yet to fully recover from his injury and most probably will not be fit in time to be available for selection.

If this report holds true then surely it will be a huge blow for Frank Lampard since the youngster has been a key performer for his side during the last few games.
The former Dortmund man found it really tough to adjust to life in the Premier League but it seemed he had finally come good and was more or less a guaranteed starter vs Manchester City.
But if Christian Pulisic does not feature in the first XI then it will be Callum Hudson-Odoi who will play in place of him while Pedro is the other first-choice winger.
So all in all, while the manager will lose a significant amount of depth in his squad, the selection of the starting XI shouldn’t be hampered too much by the absence of Pulisic.
