Christian Pulisic has joined the Chelsea squad in Japan this week after joining Borussia Dortmund during the January transfer window.

But the player has only the Blues this summer as he was loaned straight back to the Bundesliga club meaning he is just like a new signing for Frank Lampard.

And the first thing that people are waiting to see is whether Christian Pulisic can fill up the void left behind by Eden Hazard.

Eden Hazard joined Real Madrid this summer for a reported fee of £130 million and many experts feel, Pulisic will be the right man to provide the spark next season.

But Christian Pulisic has urged the Chelsea fans not to compare him with the Belgium international.

While speaking to Sky Sports in Japan, Pulisic said(as reported by talkSPORT): “I’m not here to compare or anything.

“Obviously Eden was amazing and he did so well for this club, as you could see last season and the whole time he’s been here.

“He was an incredible player (for Chelsea).

“For me, it’s coming in as my own player, proving myself and doing the best I can to help this team.

“Right now, it’s going in and helping the team whatever way I can. It’s just bringing an intensity into the training first of all and earning respect in the beginning.

“Then I want to make an impact as much as I can on the pitch.”

Christian Pulisic was involved in the Gold Cup for the United States immediately after the 2018-19 season which meant he was entitled to an extended summer break.

But instead the forward chose to cut his holidays short and meet up with the Chelsea squad in Japan and this has instantly put him in the good books of manager Frank Lampard.
