Corentin Tolisso wanted by Arsenal and Man United

Arsenal have reportedly put Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso in their transfer wishlist for the summer but they might have to battle Man United for his signature – as per reports.

Corentin Tolisso joined the Bundesliga side from Lyon in 2017 and made an instant impact at the club. But ever since he picked up an ACL injury, the midfielder has not been the same and this season he has played in only 13 league matches for the Bavarians.

This is why the Bayern manager has come to the conclusion that Tolisso is excess to his requirements and is willing to sell him off at the end of the season.

Both Man United and Arsenal have recently shown interest in signing him but this isn’t the first time the Gunners are trying to get their hands on the French international.

A couple of years ago, Arsene Wenger wanted to bring Corentin Tolisso to the Emirates but failed to do so and some experts believe a repeat of the situation is about to happen.

Man United could lose Jesse Lingard in the summer and both Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic are in the twilight of their careers so right now Ole is looking at Corentin Tolisso as the possible replacement to one of these players.

But Arsenal do need him more than their Premier League rivals since the likes of Granit Xhaka, Ceballos and Guendouzi have all been below average this season.

Arteta is itching to bring in a new central midfielder during the summer and the 25-year-old could be the perfect man to do the job despite his hefty price tag.

TransferMarkt values the player at around €41 million which should not be a massive problem for Manchester United but the Gunners will surely have to think twice before they can splash out such a huge price a single player.

So all in all while Arsenal should be able to give a tough fight to Manchester United in the signing of Corentin Tolisso, the odds are heavily stacked against them especially since they cannot get back into the Champions League next season.
