Rangers FC have been enjoying their winter break and will get back into action this week.

The Gers are scheduled to take on Cowdenbeath in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup on Friday and as things stand, the match could be postponed.

Rangers will take on Cowdenbeath at Central Park but the weather right now is not very pleasant.

Cowdenbeath is currently experiencing freezing temperatures and there is a forecast of heavy snowfall during the coming few days.

And the biggest problem is that Central Park does not have an undersoil heating system meaning the club will have to cover the pitch in order to protect it from getting damaged.

Cowdenbeath posted a message on Twitter on Monday, providing an update on the whole situation and also asking the volunteers to come forward and help.

Cowdenbeath wrote: “We have been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast ahead of the ScottishCup game v RangersFC & have decided to put the pitch covers down to protect the pitch against frost.”

“We are asking for volunteers to come along & assist the club at 1 pm on Wednesday afternoon.”

The Gers squad are currently in Tenefire taking part in a warm weather training session but this bad weather at Cowdenbeath is not very good news for Steven Gerrard’s side.

If the match is postponed then it would pile up fixtures which in turn could hamper Rangers’s push for the Premiership title.
