Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Daniel Sturridge will be allowed to leave for free this summer.

Daniel Sturridge joined the Reds from Chelsea in 2013 but during the past couple of season, a string of injuries has forced the England international down the pecking order.

During the 2018-19 season, the forward ended up playing in 27 games across all competitions which was indication enough that the Anfield outfit were not too keen to hand him a new deal.

The German said: “Alberto is a person whose personality is reflected in how he plays – full of life, full of energy, always positive. An unbelievable character who is always willing to give all of himself for the team.

“Daniel has earned the right to be considered a modern-day Liverpool great, I would think. He came to the club while we were trying to rebuild and re-establish ourselves. Some of the goals he has scored for Liverpool were so, so, so important.

“We will miss them of course, but we can say farewell with the best words possible: Guys, you leave as European champions.”

Daniel Sturridge might have had a poor season but being available for free is certainly a great chance for clubs to line up at his doorstep.

And this is exactly what Arsenal are doing.

Unai Emery is reportedly interested in signing the free agent this summer and some believe that the Spanish boss is eyeing a move for Sturridge as a replacement for Aubameyang.

Recently it has been reported that there has been heavy interest for the Gabon international from the Chinese Super League.

While there are no indications that Aubameyang wants to head to Asia right now but the kind of money that the Chinese clubs are wiling to splash can sway anyone’s mind.

And people believe that Emery might already be preparing for the worst by making a move for Daniel Sturridge who might not be at the level of Aubameyang but getting him for free will surely be good business.
