Arsenal will take on Chelsea in the Europa League final later this month and reports are claiming that Danny Welbeck could feature in the matchday squad.

Danny Welbeck joined Arsenal from Manchester United in 2014 and since then he had been used sparingly by Arsene Wenger.

But this season with Unai Emery taking charge of the Gunners everyone was eager to see what the future holds for Danny Welbeck.

And now it is more or less certain that the forward will move out of the club as a free agent and his next destination is most probably going to be Newcastle United.

While the Toons are interested in signing him but Rafa Benitez is having some doubts since the player has hardly played any football this season after having picked up a serious ankle injury.

And so that it becomes easier to sell off Danny Welbeck, Emery is planning to give him some playing time when Arsenal take on Chelsea in the Europa League final.

Danny Welbeck could be named on the bench for the Gunners and if everything goes on well for the North London club then the England international could be brought on to the pitch during the final few minutes.

According to Sam Mokbel of the Daily Mail(as reported) he “is in line to make his Arsenal comeback and farewell in the Europa League final. The England international hasn’t played since breaking an ankle in November, an injury that required two operations.

“But he has returned to full training and it is understood the club are planning to take the forward to Baku. Welbeck — who will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season — is hopeful of being named on the bench.”

If the 28-year-old does manage to feature in the Europa League final vs Chelsea then it will be his farewell game for the club.

Once the final is wrapped up, Rafa Benitez is expected to hold talks with Danny Welbeck over a move to St James’ Park next season.
