Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck suffered a nasty ankle injury during the club’s Europa League clash on Thursday.
Danny Welbeck had to be stretchered off the pitch and now Unai Emery has revealed that a surgery has been performed on the forward.
The manager has refused to provide a return date for the English international but some fell that Danny Welbeck will not return to action before the end of the season.
But despite being operated on, on Friday, Danny Welbeck was aware of the fact that his team had an all-important game against Wolves during the weekend.
So the player chose to deliver a speech to his fellow teammates from the hospital bed.
Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno has revealed that Unai Emery had arranged a FaceTime session with Danny Welbeck before the Wolves game and the England international delivered a speech while recovering from injury.
Leno said: “We talked to Danny in the meeting before the Wolves game because the coach had organised a FaceTime session with him.
“I think he was happy to talk to us because he is still a big part of our team and we will all support him when he is injured.
Unai Emery confirms Danny Welbeck has had surgery on his ankle. “It's a big injury. He had an operation on Friday," he said, although the Arsenal boss was unwilling to put a timeline on the attackers potential return. “The doctor can answer that better than me." #AFC pic.twitter.com/15B5xyTQDp

“It was a very good idea because we’re all sorry for Danny and we wanted to win for him.
“We hope he’ll have a good recovery and we want to see him back on the pitch because he’s an important player for us in the team and in the dressing-room.
“I think the idea of the chat is a big quality of the manager because he does not want a team of individuals.
“This meeting was very motivating for everyone to play for Danny because everybody likes him and wishes him well.”
Arsenal drew their game against Wolves 1-1 meaning they now sit fifth on the Premier League table with 24 points – eight points behind league leaders Manchester City.
And now Unai Emery’s first aim will be to get back into the top four by overtaking Tottenham Hotspur who are three points above then on the fourth spot.
