Manchester United have a host of players who are out of contract at the club this summer and one of them is David De Gea.

While players like Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Juan Mata can still be replaced the fans are literally begging the club to keep David De Gea.

De Gea has never openly said that he wants to leave the club and after the arrival of Solskjaer the youngster seems to be more at home.

Then why has the Spaniard not put pen on paper to a new deal at Old Trafford?

Well according to The Times, De Gea had been holding back on agreeing to a new deal because former manager Jose Mourinho might have rubbed him in the wrong way.

As per the report, when David De Gea was picking up his Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, Jose Mourinho had made a comment which did not go down too well with the shot-stopper.

“David deserves a third award . . . he’s the worst player in training . . . when it’s cold and wet he doesn’t save much in training,” Mourinho said.

While there were a few peals of laughter inside the room but it was pretty evident that David De Gea was not too pleased with the sarcastic dig.

But now with Jose Mourinho gone, David De Gea should sign a new deal, right?

As per the latest reports, the goalkeeper is pretty happy at the club and is more than willing to commit his future there. But he wants to be paid somewhere around 350,000 pounds per weeks.

Yes, this is a very large amount but then, it is David De Gea we are talking about.

So Man United should just accept it and offer the money.

The club have already activated a one-year extension in De Gea’s current deal meaning he will stay at the club until the summer of 2020.

And Man United are confident that the shot-stopper will agree on the terms of a new contract during this time.
