Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is currently out in the market looking to bring some new players into the squad but one of his biggest tasks for the summer will be to hold onto David De Gea.

David De Gea’s current contract at Manchester United expires in June of 2019 with an option to extend a further year and Jose Mourinho is desperate to tie him down to a new deal.

And if latest reports are to be believed then the Spain No 1 is expected to sign a new five-year deal at the club any time now.

This comes as a huge news for the United fans because the last thing they want to see is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League join another club.

On the other hand, the news will definitely be a huge blow for Real Madrid who have been long-time suitors of the United No. 1.

The report suggests that all the parties have agreed to the finer details of the new contract and David De Gea’s signing of the new contract will be made imminently.

But we feel that United will hold onto the announcement until the World Cup comes to an end especially after the recent sacking of Julen Lopetegui after he was announced as the new Real Madrid boss days before the World Cup.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has always maintained that there is ‘no chance’ that the club will let go of David De Gea during the summer transfer window and the new-year deal will go a long way in securing the shot stopper’s future at Old Trafford.
