Arsenal have so far made a pretty decent start to the new campaign and it looks like David Luiz is making a positive impact in more ways than one.

Yes, the centre-back has made a few mistakes during the first few games of the new season but clearly he looks to be the defensive marshall for the Gunners.

And now speaking about the impact that the senior pros have made, forward Reiss Nelson has revealed that it is David Luiz who has urged him to take more risks in the final third.

‘It’s a great feeling to have a lot of big characters in the team who are willing to help the younger players come through and help them do well,’ he said(as quoted by The Metro).

‘You see the likes of Laca, Auba and Granit who are all big players in the team. David Luiz is a new addition and he’s always talking to me, always talking about the mental side of football.

‘You can have a bad pass or a bad shot, but you need to do this to take the risk. You need to shoot to score the goal. If it goes wide, you just need to keep going and keep your head up.

‘I think that helps you a lot.’

A number of eyebrows were raised when Arsenal announced the signing of David Luiz from Chelsea and these critics have gotten stronger after the defender made a few errors.

But one thing is clear that the Brazilian is going nowhere and his defensive aspect is not the only reason why Unai Emery chose to sign him.

The manager wants a defender who can star build-up play from the back and David Luiz had been doing exactly that for Chelsea for ages.

Chelsea, on the other hand, reportedly sold off Luiz because their manager wanted to build play with one-two touch passes and not with the Brazilian’s long-balls.
