Manchester United are eyeing a move for West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in case Paul Pogba chooses to join Juventus this summer.

Paul Pogba recently claimed that he is ready for a new challenge and immediately after this statement the media has been buzzing with reports of Juventus trying to bring him back to Turin.

While some reports have claimed that the Man United board are not ready to let Pogba leave but Ole is not too eager to fight for the Frenchman.

Instead, the Norwegian boss has chosen Declan Rice as the long-term successor to the World Cup winner and United are ready to up the game in the pursuit of the youngster.

Declan Rice broke into the international scene this past season with a string of fine performances for the Hammers and also with him choosing England over the Republic of Ireland.

And given the potential of the midfielder, West Ham are not ready to let go of him this summer as Pellegrini wants to build a team around him.

West Ham United have made it clear that Declan Rice is not up for sale but some reports have claimed that if Man United were to put around £80 million on the table then it might force the London outfit to reconsider.

West Ham have every right to ask for such a steep transfer price given that Rice signed a contract extension last December keeping him at the London Stadium until 2024.

And if Man United can offload Paul Pogba this summer for a hefty fee then paying the £80 odd million for Declan Rice should not be too much of a headache for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Right now, Man United are the only big name being linked with Declan Rice and this is an advantage that the Old Trafford outfit do not want to lose.

That is why reports are suggesting that the United management are set to hold talks with the Hammers over the sale of Rice this summer.
