Tottenham Hotspur beat Ajax in the Champions League semi-finals and will now go on to face Liverpool in the finals at the Metropolitano next month.

Spurs won the semi-final on away goals after the match ended with an aggregate scoreline of 3-3.

Pochettino’s men the second leg 3-2 and it was an inspired performance from the Lilywhites especially in the second half of the tie.

But after the match, there have been doubts as to whether Dele Alli will feature in the final vs Liverpool.

Dele Alli started Spurs’ final Premier League game of the season vs Everton but was withdrawn at half-time and the manager claimed that he was feeling strange.

This immediately led to fears over his participation in the Champions League final and this would have been a major blow since Harry Kane is also recovering from an injury and remains a doubt for the Madrid clash.

But now Pochettino has eased the fears stating that Dele Alli should be fit to play vs Liverpool next month.

“He didn’t start in the warm-up, he was feeling strange and then his performance was very poor in the first half because he can’t cope with the situation,” Poch said about Dele Alli.

“So because of caution, he was out. I think it is not a problem. We need to assess him, but I think he was tired, but for the circumstance again we played with him.

“I think in a normal condition he was for sure not starting the game, but we started with him and, before that problem starts something, at half-time we made the change.”

Dele Alli has been a key figure in attack for Spurs ever since Harry Kane has been ruled out of action.

And if the England international had failed to make himself available for the Champions League final then surely all the pressure would have fallen on the shoulders of Lucas Moura and Son.
