The Manchester United players travelling to the US in order to take part in their pre-season tour and as soon as the pictures of the players came out, the fans started panicking.

While most of the players had reported for the US Tour, Alexis Sanchez was nowhere to be seen which rightly sent shockwaves amongst the United faithful.

At first, everyone thought that the Chilean had picked up an injury during their light training session at Carrington but later it was revealed that the forward could not travel to the US due to visa issues.

While major publications have claimed that Alexis Sanchez would only miss the first half of the tour but some claim that the January signing might not make it to the States at all.

Fans will surely miss Alexis Sanchez if he does not make it for the pre-season tour but the Chilean’s absence could be a blessing in disguise for some of the players.

With Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford enjoying their break after a lengthy World Cup campaign, Anthony Martial is expected to start as the main striker while the other two forwards with most probably be academy kids.

17-year-old Angel Gomes was given his first professional contract at Manchester United last December and hopefully, Jose Mourinho will deploy him one of the wings during their pre-season games.

Members of the youth team coaching staff have claimed that Angel Gomes has a Paul Scholes type effect meaning he can dictate the pace and tempo of a game pretty well.

Another player who is expected to benefit from the absence of Alexis Sanchez is Tahith Chong.

The 18-year-old was awarded the Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year at the end of the 2017-18 season and he is tipped to be the next big academy player to break into the first team setup.

Chong can primarily plays on the left wing but he also has the capability to play on either flank.

The United fans in the US waiting to catch a glimpse of Alexis Sanchez might be disheartened if he fails to resolve his visa issues but his absence might also be a chance for one of these youngsters to impress Jose Mourinho.
