Erling Haaland Man City

Erling Haaland has been in sensational form this season for Borussia Dortmund scoring a staggering 21 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances. And this form is why a series of top European clubs have been heavily linked with the Norwegian international.

Clubs like Chelsea, Man United, Real Madrid have all been keeping tabs on the situation but according to Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola is the most desperate to sign the 20-year-old since Sergio Aguero will be on his way out of the club at the end of this season.

The report claims: “Sergio Aguero’s exit at Manchester City comes as they step up plans to sign Erling Haaland as his successor.

“Events this season have accelerated and intensified the need to get this right.”

No interested club will be ready to give up without a proper fight but there’s a pretty good chance that Erling Haaland will end up playing for the Etihad outfit next season.

Why Erling Haaland is likely to join Man City:

In a recent interview, Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola had claimed that money is not going to play a major factor in deciding the forward’s future plans.

“This boy — I’m 100% convinced and everybody’s convinced — can move to any club, wherever he wants, already on this level,” Raiola said in an interview with The Athletic.

“And he could have done that last year. But maybe last year there were still teams (saying), ’Oh, he was in Red Bull, can he do it in another club?’. He is quicker than his own prediction. So yeah, Haaland is the talk of the town.

“I have the advantage of 25 years in the business at this level. I have changed the game, from an economical side, more than once. I don’t get excited anymore about that kind of thing. I know to wait.

“This is a moment of waiting and seeing what is in the best interest of the player. Sometimes the best interest of the player is not to move when everybody says he has to move. And sometimes it is in the best interest of the player to move when everybody says he has to stay. So we will see what happens.”

Despite Raiola making such big claims, it’s really hard to believe that a record transfer fee will not be involved in making Erling Haaland make up his mind in the summer.

But apart from that, the forward will also want to join a club where he can compete for all the major European trophies and what better place than Man City.

Both Chelsea and Man United are struggling to challenge for the Premier League title and they still a fair bit away from even thinking of competing for the Champions League.

Real Madrid can afford to provide all the aforesaid luxuries to Erling Haaland and the Los Blancos, on paper, are the only real competitors for Manchester City at this moment.
