Everton started the 2019-20 season in very poor form but during the past couple of weeks, their form has gone up and next they face a stern test against Liverpool in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

The Toffees have appointed Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager and despite a 2-1 loss to Manchester City this past weekend, there seems to be a newfound buoyancy about the squad.

Liverpool are expected to make a couple of changes to their starting XI and many believe Ancelotti will also do the same.

We believe while the manager will surely try and rest some of his players on Sunday but right now his biggest challenge would be decide whether he plays with a three-man backline or does he revert back to a traditional 4-4-2.

Everton team news vs Liverpool:

Holgate and Yerri Mina should keep their place in the backline but Seamus Coleman is expected to move back to the bench as Michael Keane comes into the starting line-up.

Fabian Delph picked up a knee injury and there remains doubt over his participation in the Merseyside Derby.

The latest reports claim the player will go through a late fitness test in order to determine his availability and if he is passed fit then surely he will keep his place in the first XI.

Morgan Schneiderlin is expected to be fit and come straight back into the side alongside Delph and Sigurdsson.

Bernard was injured in the warm-up ahead of the game against Manchester City and it looks like he will not be fully fit to take on Liverpool. At best he can start on the bench if deemed fit.

Calvert-Lewin has been one of the star players for Everton during their past couple of matches but the forward should be given some much-deserved rest on Sunday against Liverpool.

While Richarlison will keep his place Calvert-Lewin is expected to replaced by Cenk Tosun who will play alongside the Brazilian.
