England beat Colombia in the Round of 16 match and will now face Sweden in the quarter-final on Saturday.

And a lot of English players – past and present were seen cheering for the Three Lions.

Last week we had reported how FIFA is paying former players of the game to be at the stadium during the matches under their Legends program.

Under this program, former footballing legends have been invited to the World Cup in order to increase the entertainment value of the tournament.

FIFA are paying these legends £10,000 per day plus travel and accommodation expenses to make an appearance during the game.

Former players like Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, Luis Figo have all been seen during the game under the Legends program.

But the fans have collectively lost their minds ever since FIFA decided to unveil their legend for the England vs Colombia.

Before kick-off, former Manchester United and England defender Wes Brown’s image came up on the big screen and under his picture was written, “FIFA Legend – England”.

Now don’t get us wrong, Wes Brown was a wonderful player during his time and has won a lot of trophies during his time with Manchester United.

But come on a FIFA Legend?

And what was even more shocking for the fans watching was the fact that Wes Brown was standing opposite the Colombia Legend – Carlos Valderrama.

The fans collectively lost their minds and they have been busy launching some hilarious digs at Wes Brown.

Wes Brown’s introduction as a Legend was clearly not taken very happily by the fans inside the stadium as many started whistling and booing the former defender as soon as he started to speak.

Next time please choose your legends carefully FIFA.
