Rangers FC did not have a particularly good start to the new Scottish Premiership campaign after they were held to a 1-1 draw by last season’s runners-up Aberdeen.

While the Light Blues led most of the match, an injury-time strike from Bruce Anderson helped secure a point for Aberdeen.

And after the match, Steven Gerrard had only praises for his players claiming that they would have easily won the game if Alfredo Morelos wasn’t sent off for an off the ball altercation with an Aberdeen defender.

Morelos was shown a straight red and immediately the Rangers fans lost their cool. The card also meant that the striker was scheduled to miss the next three league games – the final one of which was the Old Firm Derby.

But everyone knew that the Gers would appeal against the red card – and appealed they have.

And as per the latest reports, the red card issued to Alfredo Morelos has been repealed meaning the striker will be available when the Light Blues welcome St Mirren at home this Sunday.

But after the decision of the card being revoked was made, fans had very mixed reactions.

While the Gers fans were happy that justice had finally been done to their club, the Celtic fans, on the other hand, were angry at the soft nature of the Scottish FA.

After the incident, Steven Gerrard had said that the referee being harsh on the Rangers players is nothing new but some Hoops fans have voiced their concerns over the fact that if the FA are against them, then how come they have won the appeal so easily?

Rangers next take on St Mirren at Ibrox next Sunday while Celtic travel to the Tynecastle Stadium to take on Hearts on Saturday.
