Fraser Forster has been training with Scottish side Celtic FC but various rumours have suggested that the keeper might be playing for a PL side next season.

Up until a few weeks ago, Celtic were the frontrunners in holding onto the 32-year-old beyond the summer but recent reports have suggested that a Premier League club has shown interest in signing him up.

The name of the PL club was not revealed till date but now Football Insider are claiming that it’s Chelsea who want to sign Fraser Forster in a £10 million deal during the summer transfer window.

The report claims: “Chelsea are keeping tabs on Southampton goalkeeper and prime Celtic summer target Fraser Forster, Football Insider understands.

“Chelsea are in the market for at least one new keeper this summer and have already demonstrated their ambition by agreeing to sign Timo Werner in a £54million deal to be completed later this month.”

Will Fraser Forster snub Chelsea & join Celtic?

An interest from Chelsea is undoubtedly big news for the 32-year-old keeper but we firmly believe he could snub a move to Stamford Bridge in order to join Celtic on a permanent transfer next season.

It’s no secret that Lampard is looking to offload Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer but right now the Spanish keeper has no takers in the market meaning he could remain at Chelsea for one more season.

And if this does happen then all Fraser Forster will be doing is warming the benches at Stamford Bridge next campaign.

At Celtic, the Southampton keeper will obviously be the first-choice keeper meaning he will play each and every game for Neil Lennon’s side.

So if Forster does want to play regular football then he should logically be snubbing a move to Chelsea but his £70,000-a-week salary will be a major cause of concern for the Bhoys. And so there’s no doubt the keeper will have to take a pay cut in order to remain in Scotland for the 2020/21 season.

Southampton clearly has no use of Fraser Forster and are demanding around £10 million for his sale this summer. So whichever side can afford to pay it, Hassenhuttl will be happy to send him to that club, no questions asked.
