Rangers FC made more than a dozen signings during the summer transfer window under new manager Steven Gerrard but a number of those players have arrived at Ibrox on a season-long loan deal.

Players like Umar Sadiq and Ryan Kent have moved to Scotland on a loan deal but there’s no doubt that the Light Blues manager will be hoping to keep some of these loan players permanently.

And amongst the players that Gerrard wants at Ibrox for the long term is centre-back Joe Worrall.

Worrall arrived at the club from Championship side Nottingham Forest on a loan spell but multiple reports are starting to claim that Rangers want to sign Joe Worrall permanently

Joe Worrall failed to break into Aitor Karanka’s Forest side as a result of which he moved to Rangers in order to get regular game time under his belt. But so far the 21-year-old has managed to play one a single game for the Gers.

But obviously, Steven Gerrard has been highly impressed with what he has seen of Joe Worrall in the training ground as a result of which the manager has shown an inclination towards keeping the defender beyond the next summer.

Worrall is currently valued at around £7 million as per Transfermarkt but Rangers will surely not be willing to pay that much money for the defender.

Right now all we know is one side of the story and it remains to be seen how Nottingham Forest or Aitor Karanka respond to the reports that Rangers want to sign Joe Worrall permanently.
