Rangers FC signed Glen Kamara from Dundee during the January transfer window.
At first, the midfielder had agreed upon a pre-contract and would have joined the Gers at the end of the current season.
But then Dundee were ready to let him move out in January itself in return of a nominal transfer fee hence Gerrard wasted no time and brought him onboard.
After Glen Kamara arrived at Rangers, the manager was quick to claim that the midfielder would take some time to become match fit since he had not trained for three weeks.
And this comment left the Gers fans a bit confused with many claiming that by the time Glen Kamara could make any impact, the season could very well be over for them.
Many fans had also claimed that the management might have wasted money in trying to bring the midfielder to Ibrox in January and they would have been better off taking him in during the summer – as originally planned.
But according to Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister, Glen Kamara is bound to succeed at the club since he has Arsenal blood in him.
“He is very tactically aware, good footballer and we think he is a player that can come and do well in this situation”, McAllister told Rangers TV.
“His CV, he was brought up at Arsenal, so he had good early knowledge where he has been brought up and we think he can come to Ibrox and make an impact.”
“I think he’s got loads of attributes, the fact that he can handle the ball really well, I can see him maybe winning games that are very tight”, he continued.
“The teams we play at Ibrox, they tend to defend in numbers.
“I think he’s got an eye for a pass and I think he is a skilful enough player to actually make things happen.”
Glen Kamara joined Arsenal in 2012 as a youngster and the midfielder has played for the Gunners U18 as well as their U21 sides.
But in 2017, he finally moved out of the Emirates and joined Dundee on a free transfer in the hope of playing more regularly.
