Arsenal welcome Newcastle United in the Premier League this Monday and going into this game, Unai Emery has some injury concerns.

The likes of Kolasinac and Sokratis both picked up knocks while on international duty but those injuries did not prove to be too serious and the duo will return on Monday.

And so the major problem the Unai Emery right now has is with his midfield area.

Aaron Ramsey still remains a doubt with a dead leg and even Granit Xhaka picked up a knock while playing for Switzerland.

Granit Xhaka had to be replaced 11 minutes from time during Switzerland’s match against Denmark and now reports have confirmed, the midfielder has a thigh problem.

Switzerland boss Vladimir Petkovic said: “Xhaka could not stay on the pitch. He asked me ten minutes before to be replaced.

“Granit had adductor problems, he could not do any more.”

After this injury, Granit Xhaka returned back to London and then went on to post an update on social media.

The midfielder wrote: “Back in London but still unhappy that we didn’t secure the three points in the EURO qualifiers against Denmark.

“It is always painful not to be able to go the full distance but I pushed myself as hard as I could until I had to ask for my substitution in the 79th minute.

“After not being able to finish the match fighting with my teammates, I will have the first treatment tonight [Thursday] to make sure to recover quickly.”

If the rumours coming out of London are anything to go by then it does not look like Granit Xhaka will be able to make himself fit before Monday which could be a big problem for Unai Emery.

With Ramsey and Xhaka out of contention and Lucas Torreira suspended, Matteo Guendouzi could very well start in central midfield alongside Denis Suarez maybe?
