Arsenal have already lost Aaron Ramsey to Juventus on a free transfer and it looks like they could only part ways with Granit Xhaka.
Granit Xhaka caught everyone by surprise a couple of months ago when he claimed that he is not alien to the idea of moving out of Arsenal and ending his professional career at some other club.
Xhaka told Swiss outlet Tagblatt(as reported): “I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step.
“Arsenal does not have to be the last stop.”
This news immediately spread like wildfire and everyone was claiming that the Swiss international was trying to force a move out of the Emirates this summer.
Thankfully though, Granit Xhaka took control of the situation before it blew up as he made it clear that he is not leaving Arsenal.
“Not that I know,” Xhaka told Blick(as reported)
“I have another four years’ contract, I only signed last year. I’m happy there, my family too. That’s the most important thing.”
Now though things have taken another unexpected turn as reports are suggesting that Atletico Madrid want to sign Granit Xhaka during the summer transfer window.
Atletico Madrid are set to lose Rodri to Manchester City in the coming few weeks and it looks like the La Liga outfit want Xhaka to replace him.
The Gunners have been linked with AC Milan’s Franck Kessie during the past couple of weeks and if this transfer goes through then Unai Emery will surely not hesitate to let Granit Xhaka leave for the Metropolitano.
But some reports have claimed that Franck Kessie could arrive at the Emirates in a swap deal for Lucas Torreira who is wanted by Giampaolo at AC Milan.
And if Torreira heads back to Italy then surely there is no way that Unai Emery will sanction the sale of Granit Xhaka.
