Harry Kane has more or less admitted that he wishes to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and at the same time, he’s also made it clear that the decision to vacate his locker room remains with him and not Daniel Levy.

He told Gary Neville: “I don’t want to come to the end of my career and have any regrets. I want to be the best I can be.

“I never said I’d stay at Spurs for the rest of my career and I’ve never said I’d leave Spurs. People might say, ‘he’s desperate for trophies, he needs trophies’, but I feel like I’ve still got almost another career to play.

“I’ve got seven, eight years, kind of what I’ve already had in the Premier League. So I’m not rushing anything, I’m not desperate to do anything. I’ve still got so much more to give. I can produce better numbers than I’m producing at the moment.”

This statement has sent his potential suitors into a frenzy and clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City have been put on high alert.

Both the Manchester-based clubs have been linked with Kane for a really long time and now that the forward has shown a desire to leave Spurs, the two English sides are sure to make a move pretty soon.

Former Tottenham midfielder Jame O’Hara has admitted that Man City and Man United are the two clubs who can afford to sign someone like Harry Kane in the summer but for a deal to happen, they will have to pass through one major obstacle.

Jamie O’Hara said on Sky Sports: “They[the Spurs fans] love what he’s done for the club, he’s been an incredible ambassador, he’s been brilliant for the football club, he’s given everything.

“He’s left everything out on the football pitch every time he’s played, he’s played through injuries so as a Spurs fan, at the moment where the club is and how we’re playing and the sort of direction that we’re going in and the ambition that we’re showing, it’s not there.

“He’s a world class player, I can see him at Manchester City or a Manchester United. They are the two clubs in England that can afford him and are in a hunt for a number nine.

“I heard Harry Kane saying about it’s down to him and it will be his decision but that’s wrong. It’s not because you signed a contract and he’s gone three years on his deal so ultimately it’s down to Daniel Levy.

“He can come out and kick up a fuss and say that I wanna leave but ultimately, it’s down to Daniel Levy. He is an investment and as a football player, we all know that you’re investments for the football club and you leave if they feel the time is right for you.

“I can’t see how this deal is going to happen overnight, I can’t see it being a 100 million pound deal in the next couple of weeks.”

Daniel Levy is one the toughest negotiators in world football and the Spurs chairman knows fully well how big an asset Harry Kane really is. The first thing he will try and do is to make sure that he can convince the 27-year-old to remain at the club beyond the summer.

But if Kane still shows a desire to play for a new club next season then Levy will make sure that he squeezes out as much money as possible from this transfer deal.
