Arsenal keeper Emiliano Martinez is going to join Premier League rivals Aston Villa and as per The Telegraph, the Gunners are planning to replace him with Runar Alex Runarsson.

Various reports have claimed that the two English clubs have agreed on a deal and according to Football Insider, the Argentine has also passed a medical at the club.

So clearly it is only a matter of time before Martinez’s move to Villa Park is made formal but by the looks of it, the Gunners have wasted no time in trying to bring in a replacement.

Who is Runar Alex Runarsson & how much are Arsenal paying for him?

Runar Alex Runarsson is an Iceland international who currently plays for French side Dijon, having moved there from Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2018.

The 25-year-old keeper played in 11 Ligue 1 games for Dijon last season and his current deal with the club expires in 2022.

As per The Telegraph, Runarsson has been referred to Arteta by goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, who worked with Runarsson during their time together at Nordsjaelland.

The report also claims that Arsenal will have to play only around £1.5m for the 25-year-old meaning they are about to make a huge profit from the sale of Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa.

Villa are paying £20m for Martinez and if Runar is brought in for a dirt-cheap price then Mikel Arteta can use the extra money to fund the transfer of someone like Thomas Partey.
