The German Football Association has on Tuesday announced that Joachim Low will not be in charge of the national men’s team after this summer’s EURO. And, immediately, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked to the job.

This news comes at a time when Liverpool are going to a poor run of form and there’s a big chance that they might miss out on Champions League football next season. And many experts feel Jurgen Klopp could be fed up with life in England after having delivered that elusive Premier League title to Liverpool, the German could head back home now that Low is vacating his spot.

Low’s exit announcement has really caused a lot of tension amongst the Liverpool fan base who do not want their manager to leave then in such a dire state. And according to talkSPORT host Simon Jordan, there are a couple of reasons why Jurgen Klopp should stay at Anfield.

“Look at the timing of this,” he told talkSPORT host Jim White.

“First of all, Klopp has got a massive rebuild on his hand, because he’s watching his Liverpool team deteriorate on a week-by-week basis and becoming dismantled in front of his own eyes.

“I just think the timing of this is probably all wrong for Jurgen Klopp.

“He’s still a very young manager in real terms and going to the national team is almost a part-time job despite the protestations of the people who do it. Football managers like to be involved on a day-to-day basis, and national teams don’t provide that.

“I don’t think there’s any jeopardy that Jurgen Klopp is going to leave Liverpool. Also, he’s got to rebuild Liverpool! This is probably the worst time for Klopp to be leaving Liverpool because of the legacy he would leave…

“If he was perhaps considering it [the Germany job] – which he probably isn’t, it’s only because we’re linking the two together because of the obvious synergy – he would be leaving Liverpool in disarray.

“He’s not going to do that, I don’t think so.

“Do we think the lure of a national team job is as it once was for domestic managers?

“Using England as an example, when Terry Venables and Brian Clough were going for it the England manager’s job had more prestige, but now it’s considered a poisoned chalice, a difficult task, a road to nowhere and all you’re going to do at some point is get ridiculed.

“It’s an honour, of course it is, but the whole landscape has changed in football, people want to manage the big clubs rather than ascend to the top of the rank.”

If Jurgen Klopp leaves Liverpool in the summer then the German will lose all the respect and love that the Liverpool fans have for him and the manager will not want that to happen. Liverpool are in a big mess and it’s now Klopp’s duty to make sure that his side comes out of this hole. And the kind of person that the German is, we are pretty sure he will not leave without setting the record straight at Anfield.
