Rangers FC and Celtic FC have both shown an interest in signing Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas.
Kalas might be a Chelsea man but the 25-year-old has been moving around England on loan spells for a number of seasons and right now he is busy playing his trade with Bristol City in the Championship.
Tomas Kalas has been performing really well for Bristol this season and rumours have it that the Glasgow outfits have are ready to make a move for him during the summer transfer window.
Both Celtic and Rangers are planning to send scouts to monitor the player closely during Bristol’s next few games and some rumours suggest that the Gers might not even wait until the end of the season.
Steven Gerrard is very much interested in the player since he feels Kalas will be a great addition to his squad but right now his transfer price is the only worrying factor for Rangers.
While Chelsea have not officially disclosed a price tag but the Sun suggests that the Blues will demand somewhere around £5 million which is a huge amount of money for Rangers.
The Teddy Bears will surely have to break the bank in order to pull out this transfer whereas Celtic can pay for Tomas Kalas easily since the Bhoys have just received £6 million in the form of compensation for Brendan Rodgers.
But Rangers too might have a huge cash inflow during the summer if they choose to sell off Alfredo Morelos.
A number of top clubs have been lining up to sign Morelos and there’s every possibility the forward will leave Rangers at the end of the season.
The kind of form the Colombian is in right now, Gerrard can demand absurd amounts of money and probably get away with it.
So if the Gers manage to sell Morelos at a high price then surely they can use part of that money to fuel the transfer of Tomas Kalas from Chelsea.
