Neymar Jr playing for Brazil
Neymar Brazil

Neymar moved out of Barcelona to get away from the shadows of Lionel Messi and joined PSG last summer for a world record transfer fee.

And the 26-year-old has been given the free reigns at the Paris club where the owners have virtually made him the undisputed king of the squad.

But over the course of the past one year, Kylian Mbappe has been working silently to overcome Neymar and the French is surely at the doorstep of becoming the next big name in world football by overtaking the Brazilian.

And the fact that a number of people prefer to see Kylian Mbappe in action instead of Neymar is because the teenage Frenchman is not as selfish as his PSG teammate.

Unlike the Brazilian, Mbappe is willing to learn and also give up that individual glory for the sake of the team.

And now former Bayern Munich full-back, Sagnol has come out to say that Neymar should try and support Kylian Mbappe this season just like the teenager did for him last time around.

Talking about the duo, Sagnol told RMC Sport: “When you look at PSG last year, you can see many passes from Mbappe to Neymar, and Mbappe being at Neymar’s service,

“But in terms of it being the other way round, it is less.”

“This year, I want to see something different; I want to see Neymar give greater service to Mbappe and the rest of the team.”

“Neymar is theoretically still the star of the team, but after the World Cup that Mbappe had, I’d expect even more from him this season, in terms of what he can bring to the side.

“To achieve this, he will need all the help and service he can get from his team-mates – and that includes Neymar.”
