Two big reasons why Liverpool are not likely to sign this 23 Y/O goal machine

Premier League giants Liverpool FC are reportedly keen to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic FC and they are willing to offer Divock Origi in exchange.

Anfield Central claim: “Sources close to Anfield Central report that Liverpool’s interest in Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard could see Divock Origi could the opposite way in a summer deal.

“Despite Origi’s reluctance to leave the club both last summer and during the winter transfer window, Liverpool are hoping they can get him to agree on a permanent move to Celtic Park.

Despite his knack for scoring important goals, it’s time for him to leave the club and Edouard has been identified as a player that can add quality to Liverpool’s attacking options.”

Can Liverpool land Divock Origi in the summer?

Divock Origi has chipped in with goals here and there since he joined Liverpool in 2014 but he is nowhere near being a regular player for Jurgen Klopp right now.

And despite having three more years left on his current deal the Liverpool boss seems to have made up his mind to sell him off at the end of this season and Klopp is interested in using him as a counterweight for Odsonne Edouard’s deal.

While this might seem an enticing offer but there are two big reasons why Liverpool are not likely to get their hands on Edouard(in a player swap deal).

The first reason being the fact that Odsonne Edouard will want to join a side where is a regular starter and this will be really hard at Anfield since Liverpool already have players like Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.

Clubs like Arsenal are also keen to sign the Frenchman and Edouard has a much better chance at playing constantly at the Emirates than he has for the defending champions.

The second reason why the 23-year-old might not be coming to Anfield is because Divock Origi is not going to move to the Scottish Premiership next season especially with Borussia Dortmund interested in signing him.

Dortmund are a European heavyweight and Origi will prefer to join them and play in the Champions League rather than join the Bhoys and remain in the second tier of Europe.

Liverpool do remain a strong candidate in the race to signing Odsonne Edouard this summer but we doubt if that will be in the exchange for Divock Origi.
