You might have heard the rumours that Rangers FC are interested in signing Iranian left-back Milan Mohammadi which has set the alarm bells ringing for Lee Wallace.

Wallace is having the worst possible year of his professional career as the player has not played a game in over 10 months following his spat with former manager Graeme Murty.

New boss Steven Gerrard had claimed that the Lee Wallace would be welcomed back to the club once he settles his dispute with the management but unfortunately, the manager’s actions say a totally different story.

Last week the 30-year-old lost his captaincy to James Tavernier and as if that was not enough, Wallace was not named in the Gers squad for their Europa League clash.

After Gerrard’s snubbing of the left-back, many had argued that the manager would only welcome him back into the squad once he resolves all his issues with the management.

And now Rangers’ interest in Milan Mohammadi clearly underlines the fact that the Light Blues boss is not going to wait anymore.

Rangers play their first game of the Scottish League against Aberdeen in the first week of August and before that the manager wants to chalk out a first eleven.

The Ibrox outfit have made three defensive signings this summer but none of them are a left-back. This showed their faith in Lee Wallace and the fact that the 30-year-old would be back in time.

Now though it seems that Gerrard feels that the saga is being dragged too long and is planning to bring in Milan Mohammadi as an alternative.
