Sead Kolasinac is being linked with a move out of Arsenal with German side Bayer Leverkusen interested in signing him up, according to Sky Sports.

The report claims: “Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac.

“Schalke were also keen on bringing Kolasinac back to the Bundesliga, but do not have the finances to compete with Bayer Leverkusen, who recently sold Kai Havertz to Chelsea in a £75.8m deal.

“Sky Germany have reported that Kolasinac wants to return to Germany for family reasons.”

When Mikel Arteta was asked about letting Sead Kolasinac move out of the Premier League and back to Germany, the Spanish boss did not outrightly oppose to the idea but at the same time, he made it clear that no deal is going to happen overnight.

He said in his press conference: “At the moment, I’m not expecting anyone to leave very shortly. That’s where I am.

“I think in every case you have to try to take it individually. First of all, try to understand the reason – if that’s the case – when they want to leave and why.

“If there are things that you can help them to change, to give them more, you have to try to maximise those options and when it comes to a point where it’s obviously something that you cannot control and cannot help and it’s evident and clear, then you open the door.

“But then it goes down to the club to decide when and how and that’s a player with a contract that has to get the right value and go to the right club.”

Maitland-Niles is not going to leave Arsenal this summer, that’s for sure. So if Sead Kolasinac does decide to remain at the Emirates then he will effectively be the fourth-choice left-back at the club(after Tierney, Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka).

Hence, it just makes sense for him to leave the club(either permanently or on loan) and right now, Bayer Leverkusen are looking like their best bet.
