Orkun Kokcu has been one of the most sought-after young midfielders right now and if the reports are true then the 19-year-old could be moving to the Premier League in the summer.

The youngster has come up through the ranks at Feyenoord and this season he’s featured in 22 Eredivisie games for the Rotterdam side.

Clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal have been scouting the midfielder for a really long time and as per the latest rumours, Feyenoord are finding it hard to make the attacking midfielder agree on a new deal at the club.

His current deal with the club expires in 2023 and right now Feyenoord’s technical director, Frank Arnesen is eager to add one more year to the deal. And since, he’s reportedly refused to accept the terms of the new offer some experts feel he could be trying to move out at the end of the current season.

Will the player move to the Premier League?

Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old but the Feyenoord boss had confirmed last month that no Premier League club has made contact with them over a transfer.

Feyenoord boss Dick Advocaat confirmed last month: ‘It seems that what I read (about Arsenal) is true, but no one has yet come to Feyenoord (to make their interest clear).

‘I think he fits in everywhere.’

And while the two London clubs are still pondering if they should make a move for not, La Liga side Sevilla FC have already gotten in touch with the Eredivisie side over a move for Orkun Kokcu.

Feyenoord sporting director Frank Arnesen has confirmed: ‘There are no offers. But we are aware of Sevilla’s interest.

‘We have held meetings, and there are four clubs interested in him, one of them is Sevilla. There is nothing official yet, and no offers have been received.’

Joining a Premier League club will most certainly be a step up for the youngster since he’s been rated as one of the finest young talents in Dutch football over the past couple of seasons. But for that to happen, either Arsenal or Chelsea will have to make an offer to sign him up.

Feyenoord currently value the midfielder at around £23 million making him the perfect target for every interested club but at the same time, this meagre transfer fee could very well start a bidding war in the summer.
