Arsenal have been trying to sign James Maddison from Leicester City this summer but if Football London is to be believed then the Gunners could promptly shift their focus to Isco.
Their live transfer update suggested: “The Spaniard has recently entered the final 12 months of his deal in Madrid and is unsurprisingly being linked with a departure from Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
“The recent arrival of Ancelotti has not changed Isco’s situation with the La Liga giants, according to a report from Spanish news outlet AS.
“The report goes onto say that Isco ‘has the door open’ over a move away from the Spanish capital before the transfer window closes in just over a months’ time.”
Can Arsenal get their hands on Isco?
The Gunners need to bring in a world-class playmaker before the new season kicks off and they had just received fresh hopes of signing James Maddison.
Leicester City feel Maddison might be looking to secure a move out of the club which is why they are now ready to listen to offers for the 24-year-old.
But, since he has three more years left on his current deal, the midfielder will be a really expensive buy as compared to Isco who has just entered the final year of his contract.
TransferMarkt values Isco at only £16.20 million while James Maddison is valued at a staggering £49.50 million.
It makes absolute sense for the Gunners to try and go all out and sign Isco from Real Madrid but we doubt if the 29-year-old will be ready to join the Premier League, let alone sign for Arsenal.
Isco has won multiple titles with Real Madrid over the years so it will take a lot of effort for Arsenal to convince him to join a club which finished eighth on the Premier League table last season.
Or else, the next best option they have is to spend big and acquire the services of the Leicester City playmaker.
