Ivan Perisic has been the subject of interest during the past two seasons. And most of that interest has come from Premier League club, Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho desperately wanted to bring the winger to Old Trafford but each time the deal had collapsed because the Red Devils were not willing to meet Inter Milan’s demands.
Ivan Perisic had signed a contract extension with the Serie A side in 2017 and Man United too had given up hope of signing him.
But these all hell broke loose when Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti claimed that the footballer would be available for sale.
“We are talking about Perisic because he has interest from other teams and everyone would like to have him on his team,” Spalletti said Saturday.
“If anyone is interested in him, then they must pay the adequate sum.”
This immediately rang a number of bells and multiple reports claimed that Manchester United could make a move for Ivan Perisic this month.
But now reports are suggesting that Manchester United are not interested in signing the winger.
As per the report, United have known for a while that Ivan Perisic was available but they chose not to make a move.
This means that Arsenal now have a free run at signing the player after multiple reports have claimed that Unai Emery wants to add Ivan Perisic to his squad.
The Gunners boss has claimed that any player who comes in this month will be on loan meaning Ivan Perisic – should he arrive will only be on a short-term loan.
Inter Milan though want to offload the player permanently meaning that loan deal will most certainly have an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Ivan Perisic will undoubtedly be a fine addition to the Arsenal squad and maybe the fact that Man United do not want to spend money on transfers under their caretaker boss has given Unai Emery the opportunity to make such a fine signing so easily.
