Manchester City were the favourites to defend their Premier League title this season but Pep Guardiola men currently sit second on the table.

Liverpool had a seven-point lead at the top of the table but City managed to claw it down to four points by beating Jurgen Klopp’s men earlier this month.

While some pundits feel that Liverpool might be able to end their decades-old trophy drought and win the league but Arsenal legend Ray Parlour feels that Man City are still the favourites to win the Premier League.

“Manchester City will still be slight favourites even though Liverpool keep getting results,” Ray Parlour said.

“I would probably slightly go towards Man City with their experience, but the way Liverpool are playing they seem to get results when they play poorly, which is very important, but I am going to go slightly with Manchester City to retain it.”

Spurs were also in the title challenge but the Lilywhites have suffered a few defeats during the past couple of weeks who have pushed Pochettino’s men out of the challenge.

Theoretically, Spurs are still in the title race but it will be next to impossible for the London side to overcome a nine-point gap.

So it is clearly a two horse race to the Premier League title and currently, the onus is on Liverpool.

But many feel that the inexperience of the Anfield side could be a huge stumbling block for them.
