There have been many players in the Premier League last season who had a troublesome season but most of their stories would fall considerably short infront of Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw.

Shaw had a roller coaster season under Jose Mourinho with the manager failing to make up his mind about the 23-year-old.

At one point in time, the United boss openly criticized Shaw for not having a mature head on his shoulders and then Jose went onto claim that the full-back might have a long-term future at Old Trafford.

Then again the admiration took a nose dive and Mourinho was once again critical of Luke Shaw. We can be pretty sure if it was any other player then he would have packed his bags and headed out of the club. But Shaw seems determined to prove his manager wrong.

The left-back was one of the first players who returned back to training at Carrington for the pre-season and to be very honest the 23-year-old looks in perfect shape for the new season.

United are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour and Luke Shaw who is pretty active on social media has been constantly posting pictures of the tour.

And it was in one of these pictures that West Ham United’s summer signing Jack Wilshere made a sarcastic dig at Shaw.

This is the picture that Luke Shaw posted on Instagram:

While Shaw has chosen to stay at Manchester United and fight for his position, Wilshere, on the other hand, has called it quits on his long relationship with Arsenal and moved to West Ham United on a free transfer last week.

Wilshere has been guaranteed a constant first-team role by Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini but Luke Shaw still has a lot to do if he wishes to topple Ashley Young from the left-back position.
