Man United brought in Jadon Sancho and he was supposed to fill the void in the right-hand side of the attack this summer. But sadly, nothing has gone to plan for the England international.

He came into United at the back of a bad European campaign with the Three Lions and it looks like he is yet to recuperate from the defeat in the Euro. So far, he’s played in only 23 games for Manchester United, scoring only two goals.

At Dortmund, he was on fire for the four years he was in Germany but he’s massively failed to replicate that form back home. He’s not only struggling to get goals and assists but over the past few months, he’s also been labouring to get playing time.

Will Jadon Sancho revive his career in the next few months?

During the first few weeks of the 2021/22 season, Sancho was a prominent starter but he’s slowly lost his place to Mason Greenwood. And since Rangnick has taken charge, the interim manager has chosen to use Greenwood down that right channel with Elanga playing on the left. Briefly, Jadon was used alongside Bruno Fernandes in a 4-2-2-2 formation but ever since the manager has altered his system, Sancho has been pushed to the bench.

Under the German, Jadon Sancho had clearly fallen down the pecking order but now that Mason Greenwood is not going to play for Man United until further notice, Sancho will definitely get one more shot at bailing his career.

We all know the Greenwood situation so he’s not coming back into the squad in the immediate future, that’s for sure. And given that Rashford favours the left-hand side and with Martial moving out, Jadon Sancho is the obvious choice down that right flank.

As per Fotmob, the 21-year-old has a rating of just 6.70 and his last goal for the club came against Chelsea in a 1-1 draw in the final week of November.

With Greenwood out of the picture, Ralf Rangnick will obviously look at Jadon Sancho once again and this time, the youngster needs to be ready to grab his opportunity with both hands.

Apart from Greenwood and Jadon Sancho, the manager does not have too any more forwards who are out-and-out right-wingers so with Mason out of the picture, Sancho is bound to move up the pecking order. For the next few weeks, the former BVB man will have no major competition for that role and this is the perfect opportunity for him to justify the huge transfer fee that Manchester United paid for him in the summer last year.

There’s a slight chance that Anthony Elanga could be shifted to the right but the Swede is naturally a left-sided attacker so we don’t think his manager will take the risk of playing an in-form player out of position.

Unlike Ole, Ralf does not shy away from making the tough calls so if Sancho cannot win his manager’s trust this time around then it could be curtains for his stint at Old Trafford.
