Premier League giants Manchester United are desperate to sign Jadon Sancho during the upcoming transfer window. But his massive price tag is proving to be a major cause of concern for the OT outfit.
Sancho has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga this season scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists in just 30 league matches which is why Dortmund want around £130 million in exchange of the England international.
And recently even former EPL man Andy Townsend raised doubts over Man United trying to spend so much money on a single player this summer.
“United in their DNA have always had exciting wide players, pacy players in those areas and Jadon Sancho is certainly all of that,” he said on Premier League productions, as quoted by Express.
“It will be very interesting to see whether or not someone is prepared to pay the sort of money [Dortmund want].
“It’s a staggering amount of money for somebody who has actually played 100 games in his career.
“His return is decent with 36 goals from those wide areas but £130m or £140m is an incredible sum of money to pay.”
But now Man United have been handed a major boost in signing the 20-year-old after Borussia Dortmund chief Michel Zorc has hinted that quoting less money for transfers is a real possibility amidst such a massive financial crunch.
Zorc said, as reported: “It is clear that we are concerned. But I don’t want to talk about that now.”
“There will be significantly less money on the market. Each club has to cope with losses – so it will not be a boom year.

“The extension of the transfer window makes sense. The situation is new and the clubs have to adjust to it. It should be until October 5th – I welcome the decision.”
Many people think this is a clear indication that BVB are willing to get back onto the negotiation table for Jadon Sancho which is great news for Manchester United who are really eager to land the winger before the next season begins.
If Man United can save money in this signing they could very well use it to fund their other requirements, namely Jack Grealish.
Sancho is eager to return to the Premier League and if he ends up moving out of the Bundesliga this summer then Old Trafford seems to be his likely destination – at least for the time being.
