19-year-old Joao Felix is currently the most sought after youngster in European football and a number of top European club are interested in signing him during the summer.

Joao Felix currently plays for Benfica in the Liga NOS and this season, the forward has been setting up the Portuguese top division on fire.

The youngster is a product of the famed Benfica academy and during the 2018-19 season, he has already played over 40 games for the Portuguese club.

So far, Joao Felix has scored 18 goals and made 11 assists and for a 19-year-old to do that is truly remarkable.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City are keen to sign him up during the summer transfer window and up until now, Man United were said to be the front runners.

Benfica will surely ask for a steep price given Joao Felix is under contract at the club until 2023 but the Red Devils will be more than happy to pay the big bucks given that they plan to rebuild their squad this summer.

Now though, reports are claiming that Manchester City might just have edged past their city rivals in the signing of Joao Felix.

The report is saying that City have held a meeting with the parents of the teenager in a bid to convince the youngster to move to the Etihad at the end of the season.

But Man United are not giving up either as another report is claiming that the Red Devils have also made contact.

While United will be ready to splurge money on Joao Felix but the deal might eventually not go their way given that they have failed to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Next season, the Red Devils will be playing in the Europa League and we are not too confident that one of the brightest young talents in Europe would be willing to ply his trade in the second division of European football.
