Chelsea dropped points for the time this Premier League season as they held by West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday.
The Blues have thus slipped down to the third spot on the league table – two points behind leaders Liverpool.
Willian was undoubtedly the star of the night for Maurizio Sarri’s side while the likes of Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard were below par but it was another player who was pulling the strings for the Blues.
Midfielder Jorginho followed Sarri from Napoli to Chelsea during the summer transfer window for a transfer fee of £50m with £7m in potential add-ons and the midfielder has taken no time whatsoever to settle down at the club.
He is already the mainstay for Sarri’s midfield fulcrum with N’Golo Kante being pushed to a new role and Jorginho is surely not disappointing.
Jorginho completed a total of 180 passes during the stalemate at Everton which is a new record in the history of the Premier League.

And this is the second passing record that he has broken already during his time at Chelsea the first one coming back in August when Jorginho completed a total of 158 passes in the Premier League game versus Newcastle.
And in doing so he beat the previous club record held by Cesc Fabregas which was at 144 passes.
All that control though and authority from Jorginho was not enough to secure a win for Chelsea against West Ham. But Sarri will be happy that his midfield maestro is in such fine form especially with Liverpool visiting Stamford Bridge next weekend.
