AS Roma are scheduled to take on Manchester United in the Europa League semi-final this week and just days before this high-profile match, the Serie A side have named Jose Mourinho as their new manager.
Yes, Jose Mourinho, the man who was sacked very recently by Tottenham Hotspur has already found a new club. AS Roma announced that Paulo Fonseca will be leaving the club at the end of this season and just hours later, the club officially announced that Jose Mourinho was coming on board.

The official statement from the club read: “AS Roma are delighted to announce an agreement has been reached with José Mourinho to become the club’s new head coach.
“Mourinho has agreed a three-year contract with the Giallorossi that will run until 30 June 2024. He will begin his new role ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.”
There were rumours that Maurizio Sarri was in line to become the next Roma boss but now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that Sarri was never in contention.

“Thank you to the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead this great club and to be part of their vision,” Jose Mourinho said after the appointment.
“After meetings with the ownership and Tiago Pinto, I immediately understood the full extent of their ambitions for AS Roma. It is the same ambition and drive that has always motivated me and together we want to build a winning project over the upcoming years.
“The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I cannot wait to start next season. In the meantime, I wish Paulo Fonseca all the best and I hope the media appreciate that I will only speak further in due course. Daje Roma!”
Jose Mourinho was shown the door at Spurs because of the club’s poor results this season but in an interview right after his sacking, the Portuguese manager claimed he will not be away for too long.
And true to his words, he has not wasted any time in finding a new club. But, on the other hand, Tottenham are still struggling to replace Jose.
Now that Mourinho is at the helm at Roma, he will surely have a thing or two to say about their latest opponents, Manchester United, even though he will be taking over in the summer.
