Arsenal are expected to make a move for AS Roma’s 21-year-old winger Justin Kluivert during the upcoming transfer window – as per reports.

The winger joined Roma from Ajax in 2018 and this season he has played in 18 Serie A matches for the Roman side before the league was suspended.

But due to the financial situation of the club, Roma are planning to put him up for sale at the end of the season and this seems to have spiked the interest of the Premier League side.

As per the report, the Gunners are planning to offer €13 million plus Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap deal for Justin Kluivert.

Mkhitaryan has spent the current season out on loan to Roma and recently he has hinted at signing a permanent deal with the Serie A outfit.

“Since the first day I arrived here in Rome, I feel very good in the club, in the city, and of course it would be nice to stay here,” Mkhitaryan said in an interview, as reported by Football London.

“Comparing it to England, Germany and Ukraine, it has special things. People underrate Serie A but I would say it’s more than interesting to play here.

“Of course it’s not the same as it was 20 years ago but I’m pretty sure the league is getting better and better. I am more than happy to be here, to play in Italy with those fans is incredible… I’m really pleased to play in Roma and have fans like that.”

Roma are also interested in keeping the Armenian for the upcoming season but right now they cannot afford the transfer fee which is why the talks are stuck in limbo.

Arsenal currently have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who operates down the left wing but the Gabon international is expected to move out of the Emirates at the end of the current season.

And if Arteta can manage to bring in someone like Justin Kluivert for a fee of just €13 million then the club will save a lot of money, which they can use to fortify the other problematic areas on the pitch.

Arsenal, AS Roma and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, should not have any issue with this arrangement but what remains to be seen is if the 21-year-old is eager to move out of Italy and join a Premier League side.
