Chelsea are one of the frontrunners in signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and according to journalist Kevin Palmer, the deal could be completed anytime now.

He wrote on Twitter: “Chelsea are in the ‘final stages’ of negotiations over a deal for Kai Havertz. Discussions are focusing on the structure of performance-related payments.

“It seems like this is a deal edging towards to a conclusion”

Is Kai Havertz to Chelsea almost done?

This will be great news for all the Chelsea fans since Kai Havertz is one of the most sought-after youngsters in world football right now but Sky Sports are walking on a different line as they claim that Bayer are not ready to bow down in front of the Premier League giants.

Sky Sports report: “Bayer Leverkusen are refusing to give Chelsea a “corona discount” on Kai Havertz and are sticking to their €100m (£90m) asking price.

“Havertz wants to move to Chelsea but he has an agreement with Leverkusen which means they will only let him go if their valuation is met.

“The Bundesliga club don’t believe they are overvaluing Havertz even though asking prices in the transfer market are dropping because of the financial hit clubs are taking due to the coronavirus pandemic.”

We think we have surely not heard the end of this as there’s no way that the Bundesliga side will let a player like Kai Havertz leave so easily this summer.

But having said that, Frank Lampard should be able to get his man eventually as the Blues have money to spare this summer since have not signed any new players in the past year.

During the 2019-20 season, the 21-year-old scored 12 and assisted six goals in 30 Bundesliga games for Bayer Leverkusen.
