Rangers have been eyeing a move to sign Charlton Athletic forward Karlan Grant – according to reports.

The striker has been in exceptional form this season scoring 14 goals in just 28 goals and now a number of clubs are running after his signature.

Karlan Grant’s current deal with Charlton expires at the end of the season and as per the latest reports, Rangers FC are the frontrunners to sign the player.

A couple of days ago, Steven Gerrard had sent representatives to watch Karlan Grant in action and reports suggest that the Teddy Bears could launch a bid very soon.

While Rangers lead the race but that might not be the case for too long since clubs like Huddersfield and Brentford are also in the hunt.

And with the amount that Charlton are demanding for Karlan Grant, the Teddy Bears could automatically fall out of the race.

As per reports, Huddersfield were ready to offer Charlton £2m for the services of the striker but the club want much more than that.

And this is the problem for Rangers.

While paying something more than £2m will not be a problem for Huddersfield but Gerrard have to think hard before making a move.

More so since the club already have three strikers at their disposal.

Some fans believe that the Gers should not waste unnecessary money on Karlan Grant but we can see why Gerrard wants the player.

There have been multiple rumours about Alfredo Morelos leaving the club during the summer and those rumours can very well come true.

And if the Colombian does leave the club then Karlan Grant would immediately move up the pecking order – in case he moves to Ibrox this month.
