Arsenal have been chasing Kieran Tierney for a number of months now and last week it looked like they would finally get their hands on the left-back.

Kieran Tierney managed to play in just 21 league games for Celtic last season due to a hernia problem but he is regarded as one of the brightest young full-backs in the British circuit.

So naturally when Arsenal first made an offer of £15 million for him, Celtic were swift to reject the bid claiming they wanted nothing less than £25 million.

And last week there were reports that the Gunners have finally chosen to make an offer in the region of £25 million which meant Kieran Tierney would become a Gunner anytime soon.

Now though major publishing houses in England are reporting that the Bhoys have chosen to reject the offer stating that the deal had too much in add-ons.

Sky Sports reported:

“Celtic have rejected Arsenal’s latest bid for left-back Kieran Tierney, Sky Sports News understands.

“Arsenal’s offer was worth in the region of £25m but it is understood Celtic were unhappy with the structure of the bid and want more cash upfront rather than in add-ons.

“The Scottish champions are reluctant to sell their top asset unless the deal meets their valuation.”

After this, there were some rumours that the Gunners have made an improved offer where they are now willing to offer more cash upfront for Kieran Tierney but the Celtic boss has rebuffed all these claims.

“No, not that I am aware of[talking about an improved bid],” Neil Lennon said.

“I am aware of bringing people in. I think we’ll maybe have something in the next few days hopefully. The boys are doing a brilliant job but could be doing with a little bit of help.”

Arsenal are taking their own sweet time to seal the transfer of Kieran Tierney but if reports are to be believed then they do not have too much time to spare.

Napoli are also rumoured to be interested in signing the young left-back and Carlo Ancelotti could make a move the 22-year-old sometime next week.
