Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this Sunday and Mauricio Pochettino has the golden opportunity to change the course of the title race.

Right now the title race is between two clubs – Man City and Liverpool but let’s not forget that Spurs themselves were in the hunt even a couple of weeks back.

But a number of bad results now mean that much like every other season, Mauricio Pochettino will only have his player’s grit and determination to celebrate with instead of a silverware.

And this has obviously not gone down too well with the Lilywhites fans especially since their club failed to bring in a single new player last summer – a first for any club ever since the transfer window was incepted back in 2003.

Mauricio Pochettino had lined up a number of players who he wanted to bring in before the start of the season but given the club had already invested heavily in building a new stadium, Daniel Levy chose not to release any funds.

While many pundits and fans have bashed the management for this misery attitude, it seems like Jurgen Klopp stands firm in support of Mauricio Pochettino.

“In England, the country of transfers, if you don’t do transfers then that’s a really big headline,” Klopp said(as reported).

“I respect their way a lot. And if you look at their new stadium you might see where the money is.

“They had to pay the stadium by themselves right? So you have to save a little bit of money.

“There’s so many positive things you could say about Mauricio Pochettino – the whole club looks settled.”

Not just in this season, but ever since Mauricio Pochettino has taken charge of Spurs, the Argentine has made it a point not to spend crazy amounts of money.

Instead, Poch has gone for bargain deals in the transfer market which most often than not have worked in his favour.
