Liverpool had a whirlwind season last year wherein they successfully reached the final of the Champions League but were humbled out by Real Madrid.

The first blow for the Anfield outfit came in the form of Mo Salah who walked off the pitch due to an injury and if that was not enough their keeper Loris Karius made a series of howlers which eventually cost Liverpool their sixth Champions League title.

After the match, there were strong reports that Jurgen Klopp has lost faith in Karius and will be going after a new keeper this summer.

While the Reds are still in search of that replacement for Loris Karius, the whole squad will be reporting for pre-season training on Monday.

And the whole squad will report back for duty including Loris Karius.

Karius is very much aware that his future at Anfield hangs in the balance and Jurgen Klopp is taking extra precautions to ensure that his current No 1 is ‘fit’.

According to Paul Joyce from The Times, Jurgen Klopp is preparing to run a mental test on Karius before the 24-year-old takes part in full training.

Yes, a mental test.

Up until now, we are not pretty sure about the details of the test but it is being written that the test will make sure that Loris Karius is not under any mental pressure after his poor performance at the Champions League final.

While Klopp is trying to run tests on his No 1, Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, is happy that his shot-stopper is holding up a brave face during the World Cup.

De Gea also had a Loris Karius type moment for Spain but unlike the Liverpool keeper, David did not crumble under pressure but instead chose to stand up and make a case for himself.

And this clearly outlines that being the World No 1 is not just about your abilities on the pitch but also how you handle your problems off it.

Having said all this, we are pretty sure that Loris Karius will not be Liverpool’s No 1 when the 2018-19 season starts given the fact that Jurgen Klopp is still trying to bring in AS Roma keeper Alisson Becker.
