Arsenal have been keeping tabs on PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa for some time and finally they might have agreed on a deal – as per reports.

Layvin Kurzawa joined PSG in 2015 but is going to be out of contract at the end of the current season. And since the club is not going to offer him a new deal, the full-back will be available on a free transfer.

Up until recently, Arsenal weren’t the only club interested in signing Layvin Kurzawa with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona also looking to make a move for him in the summer.

And for a brief period it seemed like La Liga side Barcelona were the favourites to land him.

Now as per reports, the Gunners seem to have agreed on a five-year deal with the player meaning they finally have a proper backup at the left-back position after having used Bukayo Saka in that role for most of this season.

Arsenal are just one step away from completing the transfer and this is a serious cause of concern for their Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Layvin Kurzawa to Arsenal: What now for Chelsea?

If Arsenal are able to warp up this deal it will surely be bad news for Frank Lampard as the Chelsea boss is desperate to sign a new left-back during the summer.

The manager could lose Emerson at the end of the season while 29-year-old Marcos Alonso is also not at the top of his game. And in such a scenario, Layvin Kurzawa would have been the perfect solution to all the problems.

But now with the Gunners reportedly snatching him away, Chelsea will have to shift their focus to players like Ben Chilwell and Alex Telles both of whom have massive price tags on them.

For Arsenal, on the other hand, this will be a great signing since Mikel Arteta has to bring a number of new players and in such a scenario if he is able to sign a left-back for free then it will be a job well done.

But right now the only concern is that the North London club already have a couple of left-backs in their squad meaning the manager will be looking to offload some of them during the summer transfer window.

And maybe, Chelsea could try and sign one of these outcasts.
